Scheduling family photography sessions can be stressful, but I promise you will be glad you did it after you have your family portraits hanging on your walls. Our children grow up fast right before our eyes. My family photography sessions aren’t just a photoshoot. I love creating natural and organic moments of connection and love which will never let your story fade. I want you to look back on your photos and be able to remember the sweet stage they were in. I believe these memories, the connections you have and the emotions you feel are too important to let go of.

SCHEDULING:
The best time of day for a desert outdoor session is early at the dawn or right before the sunset. We will have an opportunity to work in a soft, glowy and magical light. If you want a city style photographs, I can do it any time of the day. Do you have little ones that go to bed early? No problem. Regardless of your schedule and your families needs I will make it work.
BEFORE THE SESSION:
Once we schedule a date for your photoshoot, you will have get all the information you need to know about the photoshoot, such as ideas on what to wear, location options, what to be prepared for and more.
I also like to get to know you and your family BEFORE the session! My mail goal is to tell your story and to preserve it for generations to come. I love bringing out everyone’s personality and to do that I have put a huge priority on getting everyone comfortable from the start of the session by getting to know you ahead of time. Especially for the kids, being able to talk to them about things they love helps them be comfortable and to relax. I strive for you to not have the awkward feeling of not knowing what to do, where to look or how to act. I want my clients to just enjoy their family being directed just enough to bring out everyone’s unique personality and to just have fun!
DURING THE PHOTOSHOOT:
I will keep your session fun and especially for little ones. One of the biggest tips I can give parents is to remain calm. Kids usually tend to do everything you say in an opposite way. Together we can trick them and get that perfect moment for taking a photograph.
AFTER THE SESSION:
Once the memories have been captured it is time to bring your story to life! Together we will carefully choose the best images. You can expect a sneak peek within a few days and the rest of your gallery will be ready in 10 days.
*What is a Documentary Session?
Documentary sessions is all about capturing family's every-day routine. Get into their day to day life, it means a lot of chatting with members of the family, listening to their stories, and capturing what comes naturally. I don't want to create something that isn’t part of them, I am there for you to grab moments in time that will mean so much down the road.
I work my Documentary sessions with very little direction or posing and a lot of focus on interactions and story-telling. Documentary sessions almost always take place in your home, a space that’s very meaningful to you and your family. Whether your home is small and cluttered, or spacious and clean.
For the Documentary sessions, here are some examples of activities: baking together, piano lessons at home, making breakfast together, bedtime Storytime, a trip to the grocery store, a family dinner, a trip to the local coffee shop, bath time, etc. Keep in mind that the whole goal is photograph your family doing the things you would typically do together — so don’t try too hard to think of activities or a schedule. This should be a very stress-free and enjoyable time for all.
